Project Overview

International carbuilder CAF will be delivering to Amtrak the next generation of Viewliner cars. As the largest single vendor to the project, RailPlan provided design, engineering, and manufacture of the modular interiors to the highest standards.

RailPlan's scope of supply to the project includes all room types as well as complimentary elements like occasional seats. Manufacturing for the project takes place at RailPlan's Baltimore, Maryland facility.

Development Process

RailPlan utilized a design and prototype system where once the concept went through intial design and engineering, a series of full-scale mock-ups where built. These allow both customer and manufacturer to work together to ensure the final product met a high level of satisfaction through the most efficient means
