Non-Ferrous Metals

Non-Ferrous materials are classified as materials that contain no iron or at such a miniscule amount that it’s not at all significant. Non-Ferrous materials are not magnetic.

Ferrous Metals

Ferrous metals are classified as metals or materials comprised of mostly iron with small amounts of other metals or elements. Ferrous metals are magnetic, making it a distinct characteristic of the materials in this category. If a metal has signs of corrosion or rust it is a good indicator that the type of metal is ferrous.

Electronic Waste

We purchase electronic waste products and components under the Ontario Electronic Stewardship (OES) regulations. All electronics have some type of circuit board or control chip that controls the electricity flow and power of the device. These components are packed with valuable precious materials like gold, silver and palladium. The purpose of recycling electronic waste is to remediate waste streams from ending up in landfills.
